A well-known, award winning manufacturer and supplier of Premium Gelato (Italian style ice cream) in the Malaysian Food Services Industry since 2004. We cater to five stars International brand hotel chains, Fine Dining Restaurants, Cafes, Clubs, Airlines, Institution and events using a multitude of both traditional and unique exotic flavors that comes in a wide variety of different size packaging.
The group started as a small gelato parlor by two Italian partners in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar Kuala Lumpur in 2004. Back then, the Malaysian market has rarely heard what gelato is all about. Due to the over whelming response by the public that the two founding partners decided to turn their love for gelato affair into serious business. Hence, Glacier, Sottozero and Gelatomio which means my gelato in Italian, was born. In the last quarter of 2004, Gelatomio Production Sdn Bhd (GMP) was incorporated for producing all the gelato to be retail at Gelatomio lounge and kiosks, at the same time Gelatomio Sdn Bhd (GM) was incorporated to take charge of all the Gelatomio retail operation.
In May 2015, a few of Gelato enthusiasts from Malaysia and Australia took over the company and modernized its production facility and further improves its quality culminating in the brand winning the prestigious Gelato World Tour Championship in Rimini, Italy in January 2016. It was the first time an Asian company beating contestants from Rome, Valencia, Dubai, Melbourne, Berlin, Chicago, Austin USA, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo and many other European countries. In 2017, GMP won the ASIA HALAL BRAND awards for Best Halal Italian Ice-Cream.
In late 2018, GMP achieved a technical breakthrough in producing Durian Gelato using Malaysia’s famous King of fruits “Musang King Durian” Durian Gelato. It started export an OEM Brand to P.R.China with approval from MITI, MOH and MoA.
Today, Glacier’s brand is well known for its smooth, creamy high-quality premium gelato and water-based sorbet, using freshest 100% NATURAL ingredients in a state-of-the-art production facility. No preservatives, no artificial flavoring, no coloring, no gelatin and no animal fat related emulsifiers were used. The Milk based gelato average 94% fat-free while the water-based sorbet is 99% fat-free. The low-fat contents and the freshest natural ingredients make our gelato a healthier choice compare to American style ice-cream.
Glacier is always in the forefront in creating unique, exotic and seasonal flavors that surprises local and international customers. GMP also produces economy grades ice-cream, customized flavors and OEM for corporate and government organization. Glacier products are Jakim HALAL certified with more than 150 flavors. Gelatomio Production Sdn Bhd is also a GMP, HACCP and an ISO 22000:2005 certified company by International Accredited TUV Nord of Germany.
